VMware Horizon software provides the ability to log into a virtual desktop environment and utilize full operating system functionality. Utilizing a virtual desktop environment enables users to run software and other programs that may not function on their workstation. Installing the VMware Horizon Software Complete the following steps to install the VMware Horizon software on your workstation. You will need to connect to the network in order to complete these steps. Open a browser window and navigate to The VMware Horizon page displays. Select the Install VMware Horizon Client option, as shown below.
The Download VMware Horizon page displays. From the Download VMware Horizon page, select the option that matches your operating system requirements. VMware Horizon supports Windows, Macintosh, Linux, iOS, Android, and Windows Store. Select the Go to Downloads hyperlink that is displayed next to the version you want to download.
The product download page displays. On the product download page, select the Download button. A prompt box displays. Select the Save, OK or Save File option (this will vary, depending on the browser you use). The file will download to your workstation.
Locate the VMware Horizon file you just download and select the file. An example is shown below. The VMware Horizon Client screen displays. Click and drag the icon for VMware Horizon into the Applications folder. After dragging the icon into the Applications folder, launch VMware Horizon.
The installation process begins by confirming that you want to open VMware Horizon. Select the Open button to continue. You will be prompted to start remote USB and printing services. Select the Continue button. You may be prompted to enter your username and password.
The username is the portion of your email address that appears before the @ symbol. The password is the one that corresponds you use to log into your workstation. Select the OK button.
The Connection Server screen displays. On the Connection Server screen, enter. Select the Connect button to continue. The Login screen displays.
