I installed Leopard over the weekend, and most everything went without a hitch, until I tried to print to my networked Konica Minolta Magicoler 2530DL. I could use the printer's web interface and see statics, config info, etc., and I'd changed nothing in the config of the printer, and verified that my other non-Mac boxes were still talking to it, so I knew that the variable was Leopard. Being a long-time Windows user, but a Mac switcher only since July, I only had a few ideas to try.

Konica Minolta Magicolor Printers

You long-time Mac guys will probably laugh at my missteps. I did search the forums here to see if there was anything, but nope. So, I tried deleting and re-installing the printer, re-booting the printer, re-booting the computer. Several times. It didn't change anything. Every time I tried to print a job, it just went to a 'Stopped' state, and that was it.

If this'd been Windoz, I'd've been screwed for help at this point. But I remembered that I'd purchased AppleCare, so decided to give them a call. After finally getting through to a person, then re-queued with the wireless guys, I finally got a tech. I was a 'little' worried when the guy said he'd never heard of Konica Minolta printers. I assured him.more than once. that the printer.had,.

in fact, been working for the last four months on an Apple-provided driver, and that the.only. change I'd made was installing Leopard, and that all other aspects were the same, and all else was working. He had me re-set the printing system, which was something new to learn - point saved for future reference- and that still didn't work.

He put me on hold to ask someone else for help. Bottom line;.currently.

there.isn't. a driver for the KM 2530 DL. Hopefully, it'll be updated soon.

He suggested that I contact the manufacturer. I sent an e-mail this morning, not really expecting an answer. You'd be surprised how many companies.don't. really answer e-mail sent to their contact and support mailboxes. Well, contrary to my suspicions, this morning, I received the following: 'From your email comments, I see that you have upgraded your operating system to MAC OS X.5 'Leopard' and now you are not able to print using your Magicolor 2530 DL. This issue has been reported to Engineering and a work around has been arranged until a new driver for this operating system is created. To fix this issue please feel free to download the MAC OS X driver for the Magicolor 2430 DL.

This will hold me until Apple comes out with their driver. I hope that this note serves to help someone here, and save them some time in multiple phone queues, and troubleshooting. I appreciate help that I've received here, and wanted to give something back.

I can't help but wonder if I'm the only person for several thousand square miles using this particular printer?? Konica Minolta Printer Headaches No, you are not the only poor soul using a Konica Minolta Magicolor 2530 printer.

Mine worked fine until I installed Leopard and then nothing in the world would get it to work. I was reduced to Kinkos for color copies for a presentation. I was about to get rid of the printer and start from scratch when I stumbled upon your posting. I cannot thank you enough. You are a trusting soul for believing they would actually answer your request. And so you were rewarded. Thanks for letting the rest of us benefit from your sleuthing.

Hi everyone I have a new iMac Intel CoreDuo and was using the Konica Minolta MagiColor 2350 EN laser printer with my PC. On the PC I had 2 'printers' installed with the supplied driver, one for Post Script and one for the usual printing. On the Mac, the driver seems to lack the usual printer driver, and every time I print b/w, the printer mixes colors to b/w which actually is not really a b/w look. It somehow is colored instead of a pure b/w. I have no idea what to do to solve the problem, I used the search on these sites and found someone talking about the same problem but his printer suddenly started printing pure b/w out of nothing, so his problem was solved without any clue why. Is there anybody out there who can help? Thanks in advance, I'd appreciate every attempt to help 🙂 G5 2x2.0 Mac OS X (10.4.6).
