Try the motherboard manufacturer site. I have the same issue with an Asus board.
My probelm was that withought the lan drivers I could not connect and those drivers were on the cd that win 7 said was not digitaly signed then said this software is not for this OS. I finally used another computer to go to the Asus site and download the drivers to a usb stick. Tada all is well. Likely I want to go like my grandfather did. Peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming at the top of my lungs like the passengers in his car. Kimsland There are Vista 32 drivers available at that link. They should work fine. As you well know just because Intel is no longer supporting that board doesn't mean the drivers won't work. Don't you think the prudent thing to do would be to have the OP try the Vista 32 drivers first before advising them to buy a new board. IF the Vista 32 drivers don't work, which I doubt, then we can deal with it. So, no, I am not going to give you a plus for those answers.
As I told you in another post we are a family here. If you insist on playing one upsmanship I doubt you will be accepted as one of the family. You last reply does show arrogance.
There is more than one way to disagree with a differing opinion. Stating 'I am right, ergo, you are wrong is childish.
That behavior will not make you any friends here. I already see some backlash. While we are on this subject can you state why you are not staying at your old home where you have over 18,000 posts, as you so aptly bragged? This issue is about respect. You are the new kid on the block here. Some members here have been around for a decade or more. That should earn them some respect.
If you don't understand that then I don't know what to say. 'I work on about 10 computers a day (sometimes 100s (as with networks)) for at least since DOS 5.1 was released' Where do you find the time to respond to 20 posts a day here? See #4 below. While we are on this subject can you state why you are not staying at your old home where you have over 18,000 posts, as you so aptly bragged? OK, that seems to be a valid reason for leaving. Never the less, you are coming off as abrasive when you state you don't care about the other helpers here.
No one person knows everything. So, every regular helper here has some knowledge to impart.
To belittle that fact is arrogant. If you feel that way perhaps you should start your own help forum.
I try to treat others here with respect and expect it in return. We don't always agree and i would be the first to say my responses are not always right. That is not the issue.
You appear to be looking for a new home where you can help less experienced computer users. That does not make you unique. All the regulars here feel the same way. Sometimes we even help each other. You're right.
I may also still be a tad upset over all this (on the other forum) I agree. I will take a break from Computing.net, as I feel my replies may be an issue at the moment (that I had not seen until now) Thank-you for your understanding Note: The only reason I don't start my own forum is because I feel it will take too long to build memberships up (ie I just couldn't reply to one post a day) I will not post on any other forum for a few months Maybe my time is up. All forums have changed from years ago. (I started at BBS support forums on dial up, many years ago) I don't fit in any longer. Kimsland Weather you go or stay is up to you.
Certainly not me. I would say that perhaps you do need a break. You are right about forums changing. This forum was bought by Tom's hardware not too long ago. Some members did not like some of the changes that have happened. Most of us are adjusting and understand that we need to accept change. If it can't be accepted then moving on is the best thing to do and many good members here did just that.
Now back to you. You appear to have much knowledge. I suggest you simply try to temper your enthusiasm a little and you will fit in.

At any rate Justin Weber is the webmaster here and he is the only person that can ask or make you leave. I hope I haven't given the impression that I am trying to force you away.
Just practice the golden rule and be patient with posters that don't know better. You need to place yourself in their shoes. I almost always leave some wiggle room in my responses. Like, I think, or You MAY.
That way the OP has the option to decide what to do on their own. If the OP seems unsure and another responder has given good advice you can simple state that you agree with? And leave it at that. Sounds like you won't be able to stay away from help forums for long, even if you try.
IMHO CN is one of the premier help forums out there. I feel that is because CN attracts competent helpers. I am rambling so I will stop. Good luck whatever you decide to do but you are welcome here, at least by me, just try to think about what I have previously stated.
